Four Peaks LL Baseball & Softball

Week 4

Week Four:

Please continue to use the Arm Care program with the weighted balls and Crossover Symmetry Bands. This will allow us to do more two months from now. If the players don't have the arm strength and stability in the shoulder blades it will be hard to progress.

Please let me know if you need anything I am here to support you!

Week 4: Upper body rotation and pronation
One of the biggest problems in the throwing motion comes from the upper body weaknesses.

Weakness: Chest Extension (Spinal Extension)

In order to fix this we have two drills to help players get into a better release point more consistently. By doing this during play catch and implementing 2-4 drills in play catch they will start to improve. I would have the kids on the line catch and the kids in the field throw. Then I would have them switch. Each pair should have 4 extra balls if they overthrow so they don't waste time chasing the balls.

Here are the drills to fix the chest extension weakness!

The Marshalls and walking marshalls will help them rotate their upper bodies better because of the offset lower body.  The partner deceleration throws will help reinforce the extension of the chest into decleration. That is why its important to focus so much on the arm care.
