Four Peaks LL Baseball & Softball

Week 5

Week Five:

Week 5 we want to return to basics of arm care for all players both softball and baseball. This will allow them more ability to recover. Right in the middle of the season arms get really tired from over use but can be reversed with proper warm up and recovery habits. Arms can recover faster with an arm care system. The typical response to soreness is rest and by the time you have rested an arm with not arm care, shoulder strengthening bands, post throw, massage, heat, ice. We need to be proactive with our players. Listen to what they are telling you about the condition of their arms

This week we want to train the players in 212 Athlete Arm Care Post throw routine. This incorporates 6 Drills.

For players who are younger 7-9 years old you can use the 1LB balls but there might be some who are strong enough to do 2LB.
10-12 year old players you can us the 2LB balls. If you see them struggle have them go down in weight to 1LB.

Drill 1: Front Tosses, Front, Side, Across, 90/90 (pitch shoulder blades)
Drill 2: Down Trampolines
Drill 3: Up Trampolines
Drill 4: Reverse Throw 90/90 From Knees
Drill 5: Reverse Throw Torso Rotation
Drill 6: Partner Deceleration Resistance Throws

This should eventually take 5-7MIN after you train them properly. Please remember this is process over the next 4-6 years that will eventually click for the players. Doing is the best training not talking. Demonstrate, have them do, make corrections, have them do it again, repeat.

Thanks so much for allowing 212 Athlete to train the coaches of 4 Peaks
